Freshwater dwarf shrimp are one of the fastest growing additions to the aquarium hobby to arrive in recent years. Thier appeal stems from their beauty, ease of care (for some varieties), and lack of aggression. A thriving colony of dwarf shrimp can be kept in even very small aquariums. The popular "desktop" aquariums make a fantastic home for Fire Red shrimp.
Fire Red Shrimp, also known as Painted Fire Red Shrimp or PFR, are some of the hardiest and most beautiful dwarf shrimp varieties available today. Fire Red shrimp a more refined variety of the common "red cherry shrimp" and are selectively bred for solid, intense red color.
Fire Red shrimp are more adaptable than many types of dwarf shrimp, but are succeptible to poor water quality and/or rapid changes in water chemistry. We recommend acclimating them slowly, and performing regular water changes. The water conditions listed below are the recommended conditions, and also their current conditions in our aquariums.

Shrimps vary slightly in color and size.
Shrimp are shipped only on Mondays and Tuesdays to prevent any possible shipping delays due the weekend. Postal holidays may affect this schedule. Extreme weather may also limit shipping.
Shrimps are shipped in insulated styrofoam boxes, with heat or cold pack included depending on weather conditions, and are bagged in Kordon Breather Bags with a small amount of moss to hold onto.
