Carbon dioxide escapes through the sidewalls of the tube during transit. Silicone tube can lose around 5% of the carbon dioxide, and it reacts to the CO2 as it passes through and renders it less efficient. Silicone tubing also hardens over time when used with CO2, becoming stiff and significantly less flexible and efficient.
This CO2 Resistant Tube is made of high quality polyurethane, which resists up to 99% of carbon dioxide "pass through", and will not harden over time as silicone does.
This high quality CO2 resistant tube can be used in both fresh and saltwater applications. It's perfect for connecting CO2 regulators and components for the injection of CO2 into planted tanks, and can also be used in a calcium reactor set up for reef applications.
